We are going to read a book called The Homework Machine by Dan Gutman.  When I choose books, I choose them by listening to recommendations of friends, looking at the cover, reading the title, seeing who the author is, and reading reviews.  Most times it's a combination of factors that actually gets me to open a book and start reading (I'm a picky reader, and I bet many of you are too).  I like some of Dan Gutman's writing.  On the next page is his website.  Poke around, check it out, learn something about the author.  His rejection letters page is especially interesting.  I might ask you to share what you learned...
