I would like you to write four days a week for at least 20 minutes.  By writing every day, you will hopefully gain fluency while getting a chance to practice punctuation, spelling, and style skills in context.  Some days, I'll give you a specific topic to write about.  And some days you'll have "free write," which means you get to write about whatever you want!  "Free Writing" can get silly with a lack of focus.  Your writing will improve more if you can stay focused on a particular theme or topic.

Make this writing a part of your daily routine and look forward to it.  How you do the writing is up to you.  Put music on.  Go outside.  Write in the car.  Write on a plane (not literally on the plane, more like when you're travelling).  Below are some ideas of what to write about and different styles for you to experiment with, and I added a link that gives a bunch of writing prompts if you're really stuck.

Free writing can include many different styles, themes, and types of writing.  You can write a story, create a poem, review a movie, review a book, tell about a restaurant, create a graphic story or comic strip, write a song, write a letter, write a novel if you have a great idea, add to an existing story, write a sequel to a book or movie, combine characters from different books/ movies, list disgusting things, rank the most dangerous things around you...  Just figure if you're writing and paying attention to your writing, then it's probably helping you become a better writer.

The next page will explain how you can share your work with me so I know that you're writing...
