We created a word bank of words that rhymed with "you" like: do, true, shoe, glue, stew, two, Cthulhu...

Then we thought of a theme, like Halloween.

And created 4 line poems, that had 4 syllables in each line with a rhyme at the end of lines 2 and 4.

If you have to "cheat"- meaning you have 5 or 6 syllables in a line, that's OK, just don't do it too often or you will lose the mimicking structure that I assigned.

There are two examples below to give you ideas.

 

Here's one where I used the "oo" rhyme:

 

Zombies are green,

They're looking for you.

Don't close your eyes,

They'll get you too.

Here's one where I changed the rhyming word (and cheated on the syllable rule in one line):

 

Zombies want brains,

Shiny and pink.

But your head is empty,

you're safe, I think.
