    No question about it. The Earth is a special place because it harbors life. Are there some qualities about Earth that were conducive to the emergence of biology? How did life in turn shape the surface and atmosphere of Earth? How does Earth compare to other rocky planets in our solar system? Why isn’t there life on our sister planet, Venus, or life on Mars?
