There have been incredible advances in our understanding of the origin of life on Earth. We should be cautious when extrapolating from a sample size of one, but in addition to one habitable and inhabited world, there are two other rocky planets in our solar system where life does not exist today. So, there should be some information about planet habitability that we can glean from our home planet.
