We created a word bank of words that rhymed with "you" like: do, true, shoe, glue, stew, two, Cthulhu... Then we thought of a theme, like Halloween. And created 4 line poems, that had 4 syllables in each line with a rhyme at the end of lines 2 and 4. If you have to "cheat"- meaning you have 5 or 6 syllables in a line, that's OK, just don't do it too often or you will lose the mimicking structure that I assigned. There are two examples below to give you ideas. |
|
Here's one where I used the "oo" rhyme:
Zombies are green, They're looking for you. Don't close your eyes, They'll get you too. |
Here's one where I changed the rhyming word (and cheated on the syllable rule in one line):
Zombies want brains, Shiny and pink. But your head is empty, you're safe, I think. |
