- Short version- Shrek wanted his swamp back, but the king had exiled fairy tale characters there, so Shrek went to convince the king to change his mind.
- Medium version- Shrek wanted his swamp back and he wanted to be left alone, but the king had exiled fairy tale characters there and they had nowhere to go. So, Shrek went to convince the king to change his mind.
- Long Version- Shrek wanted his swamp back and he wanted to be left alone, but the king had exiled fairy tale characters there and they had nowhere to go. So, Shrek went to convince the king to change his mind and found out that he needed to rescue Princess Fiona. He "tamed" the dragon, released Fiona from her tower prison, and brought her home. Fiona turned into an ogre, they fell in love, and Shrek changed his mind about wanting to be alone.
