Reading poetry is different than reading a book or a short story.  You have to pause, slow down, look for rhyme and rhythm.  Watch this video which does a good job of explaining how to decide the best way to read a poem.

We will be creating poetry throughout the year.  You need to know how to read poems to be able to create poetry that will be read by other people the way you want your poetry read.
