Satire is not a car tire that swings from a tree that you sit in, it is the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices (things people do that they know are wrong but they do it anyways).

We see satire in fiction stories and fake news reports (like we've been reading and creating).  Many times, satire seems real, but there's always at least one element that makes people (most people) realize that the news is not real.

Today you will read some satirical articles.  Then you get to create one.  Pay attention to the articles, how they set you up for the news being real, and then find the elements that make you shake your head with disbelief.

Satire is shared under a not declared license and was authored, remixed, and/or curated by LibreTexts.
